Works everywhere
Types into any Windows application, not into a window of its own. If you can put a cursor there, you can dictate there.
Write at the speed of speech, in any Windows app.
VoxDrot is a desktop dictation tool that lives in the system tray. Hold Right Alt (or any key you choose), talk, release — and your words appear exactly where your cursor is: email, Slack, your IDE, your browser. Before the text lands, AI can fix grammar, strip the filler, translate it, or run your own prompt.
Privacy is built into the architecture, not promised in a policy page: the local recognition engine runs entirely on your machine, free and unlimited. Cloud mode is there when you want extra accuracy, and it never stores your audio. No subscription, no account — one price, yours forever.
Windows 10 and 11. macOS and mobile versions are in development.
For anyone who types all day on Windows — email, chat, code, documents — and would rather talk.
Dictate into any app. The cleaned-up text lands at your cursor.

The parts of VoxDrot that carry the work.

No app to open, no record button to find. Hold to talk or tap to toggle, over any program, from the system tray.
AI cleans the words before they land: fix grammar, strip the fillers, translate, soften the tone, or run your own prompt.
The local engine runs fully offline, free and unlimited. In cloud mode audio is processed and not stored afterwards.
VoxDrot has a site of its own. Everything about it — how it works, what it costs, how to get it — lives there and stays current there.
